BREGENZ -
CITY OF SHORT DISTANCES

The cultural city of Bregenz is located in the middle of the Vierländereck, in the center of a strong economic area. The capital of Vorarlberg is known nationwide above all for the Bregenz Festival with its play on the lake, which attracts hundreds of thousands of guests every year. The combination of work and recreation is easier between Lake Constance and the Pfänder than elsewhere, because the short distances between the urban center, business enterprises and leisure facilities are a great advantage of the location.

Bregenz has just under 30,000 inhabitants - less than many people expect from a festival city. This apparent contradiction has its charm: on the one hand, it remains small-town cozy, while on the other hand, residents and guests appreciate the urban level in terms of culture and infrastructure. When it comes to public transportation, Bregenz and the Vorarlberg Rhine Valley need not fear comparison with many a metropolis.

STATE CAPITAL, CULTURAL METROPOLIS, PLEASURE DESTINATION

The cultural city of Bregenz, with around 28,000 inhabitants, is located in the middle of the four-country region of Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Liechtenstein, at the center of a strong economic area on Lake Constance. The capital of Vorarlberg is known nationwide primarily for the Bregenz Festival, which is the biggest tourist attraction, especially in the summer months. The balance between work and recreation is created here by the interaction of strong business enterprises and a year-round leisure offer, which has charisma in the region and beyond its borders.

Due to its convenient location as an interface between the Rhine Valley and the four-country corner, Bregenz is an attractive destination and economic hub. In addition to arriving by car, Bregenz can be reached by train, plane (Zurich Airport, Friedrichshafen, Altenrhein) and even by ship from the entire Lake Constance region.

As part of Austria, Bregenz is located in the immediate center of Europe. For example, it takes about the same amount of time to travel by train from Bregenz to Vienna as it does from Bregenz to Paris, and that's right in the middle of Central Europe. (Source: www.chancenlandvorarlberg.at)
