First and foremost, there are ecclesiastical buildings that have left their mark on building styles of the 17th and 18th centuries, which was full of enthusiasm for structure and design.

nepomuk-Chapel

Lake Constance used to reach as far as the Kornmarkt. According to legend, Dr. Franz Wilhelm Haas almost drowned at this point as a boy. As a thank you, he had this baroque chapel built in 1757 and dedicated it to St. John Nepomuk, the patron saint of bridges and water hazards. The blue prints for the chapel are assumed to be designed by Johann Michael Beer from Bildstein. Haas was buried in this burial chapel in 1764.

The restored baroque central building with a dome houses a richly decorated high altar. A sandstone statue of St. Nepomuk rises above the arched portal, giving this chapel its name. The interior is decorated with rococo style paintings.
