In 1294, the "Bregenzer stade", the Bregenz shore area, was first mentioned. The first evidence of a ship landing stage also comes from this period. Since its origins in the Middle Ages, the jetty has developed into a modern port, which is now being comprehensively redesigned to accommodate the increasing number of visitors on land and water. The new port invites you to linger and offers some creative, architectural and gastronomic delicacies.

THE GATEWAY TO THE STATE CAPITAL

The center of the new port is the new port building designed by the architects Nagele, Waibel, Spagolla, Ritsch and Steinmann. While visitors can stroll westwards through the well-known Bregenz lake complex in the direction of the Bregenz Festival and Congress Hall, the so-called Blumenmolo stretches out to the north, with a lighthouse jutting into the sky at the lake-side tip. At the same time, it marks the western orientation point of the harbor entrance. Direct access to the lake was provided to the west through the creation of Sunset seating steps.

Via a newly designed square, which has been made much more spacious by backfilling and embankment, visitors can walk east through an avenue from the new port building to PIER69, the port restaurant. By relocating commercial shipping to the Blumenmolo, this can be used for gastronomic purposes in the future.

The new Bregenz yacht harbour, the Marina, is an attractive mooring destination for guests. The entrance is marked by the "little brother" of the lighthouse on the Blumenmolo.

VORARLBERG LINES

The Bregenz harbor connects Bregenz with the neighboring town of Lindau, as well as many other towns on Lake Constance. A very special experience is to approach these cities by boat. The Vorarlberg Lines offer round trips over the entire Lake Constance from April. Whether it's a quick trip to Lindau or a trip to Konstanz, a boat trip in front of the alpine landscapes of Vorarlberg and Switzerland is always worthwhile.
