THE UNIQUE VIEW OVER THE ENTIRE LAKE CONSTANCE
The Pfänder, Bregenz's local mountain, offers locals and guests a variety of opportunities to gain lasting experiences in the open air. One of the big advantages is that getting there is incredibly easy. The harbor and the harbor train station are just a seven-minute walk away. Arriving at the valley station, the Pfänderbahn climbs 600 meters in just six minutes. At the summit at 1,064 meters above sea level, with wide views of the deep blue Lake Constance, the towns and villages along its shore and the Austrian and Swiss mountains, it is easy to take a deep breath. A trip to the Pfänder is always worthwhile.
Those who don't shy away from the short but challenging ascent can conquer the 600 meters in altitude from Bregenz themselves. Those who prefer a more relaxed approach or want to use the summit as a starting point for more extensive tours can use the Pfänder cable car or the local buses to Fluh, Eichenberg, Möggers or Langen .
THE EXCURSION IS ALSO WORTH GASTRONOMICALLY.
There are numerous inns and snack bars to choose from around the mountain station and along the educational cheese trail to Lutzenreute. For example, anyone who has stopped off on a hike in the Trögerstüble, the Gasthof Paradies or Moosegg will definitely return. Kaiserschmarren and bacon dumpling soup in the "Moosegg" are a treat for body and soul, especially on autumn days.
